About St Mark's Basilica Tickets

I’m Tommaso Bragadin, a Venetian and licensed tour guide for nine years. I grew up in Castello, ten minutes’ walk from the Piazza San Marco, and have walked groups through St Mark’s Basilica more times than I can count. It still stops me at the door.

Why this site exists

Too much of the internet still says St Mark’s is free. It isn’t. The ticketing changed, and the confusion remains. Half the PAA box claims free entry; the other half names prices that haven’t been true for years. One church has three official tickets (€10, €20, €20, €30) plus a separate Campanile bell tower, and then GetYourGuide layered seven hosted and guided options on top. Nobody explained this cleanly, so I did. I read through thousands of real traveller reviews, compared the official tickets to the GetYourGuide products, and wrote up what each one is actually like and who it suits. The honest caveats too: the dress code is enforced, the bag rule is enforced, the meeting-point maze in Venice is real, and the two cheapest tours rate 3.8 because reviewers name the crowds and confusion. That’s what this site does.
